Show Ifii Cnnfy; MHS ; .Gains ship of Region 8 Activities-Assn. from Supt. Bliss. The board reviewed the build ing contract submitted by the - Architect and Alder Const. Co. They asked the Supt to work with the Board Attorney to come up with a cintract that can be approved by the board. Ed's Note: Many Milfordites who attended the game at Beaver Beav-er last leek have commented on the prcgress being made- on the nw gym in that end of the county, while to date nothing has bten done in Milford. We are assured by the local board members that construction will begin in Milford almost immediately. Total enrollment in the County Coun-ty was down but MHS made a gain of four students. Beaver City lost 6 and all of the elementary ele-mentary schools in the county dropped in number of students. Total enrollment has decreased over the past three years from 1070 in 1971, 1030 in 1972 and down to 995 this year. Milford elementary lost 10 students this yar, Belknap 14 and Minersville 9 for a total net loss of 33 in the district. Jesse E. Long. Principal of Milford High School met with the board. He said a caretul evalualon oi the income irom activities had been made and he asked the board to give financial fi-nancial help to their tootball, wrestling, track and baseball programs. He said the need was about S1200. In a letter to the board he asked for cleaning of tire carpet, new seats in the science room, and paint in two rooms and the auditorium. The board asked the Supt. to investigate the needs and report back. They also noted that the incinerator in-cinerator had been destroyed to build the new gymnasius and there was no way to dispose of trash. An eighth grade boy, Tom Couray, is living with his parents par-ents at Mt. Holly and has requested re-quested the board consider paying pay-ing i.n lieu of transportation to help offset costs of transporting transport-ing him to a school. The board agreed to pay $2.20 per day in lieu cf transportation. The Dress Standards as adopted adopt-ed by the board were reviewed by the Superintendent. Supt.
