Show CALLS BEFORE CHRISTMAS ARE YOUR BEST BET Telephone customers who plan to make long distance holiday holi-day calls this year will have better luck calling on Saturday or Sunday before Christmas, recording to Mountain Bell Ex- change Manager Dee Jensen. Jensen said cu;tomers can take advantage of weekend rates and low use of telephone circuits by calling on Saturday, December 23 or Sunday, December De-cember 24 before 5 p.m. "By calling before Christmas Day, you net only take advantage advan-tage cf low rates, but also have a better chance of having your call go through on the first try," Jensen said. He explained that Christmas and Mother's Day are the two busiest calling days of the year. Everyone tries to call at certain cer-tain times, over-loading long distance circuits and causing fast busy signals. "Utahn will place an estimat. ed 100,000 long distance calls on Christmas Day, a 15 increase in-crease over last year," Jenseni said. He offered some tips to help people complete their holiday calls: Dial Direct. It's faster and cheaper than calls placed through an operator. Call on Saturday, December Decem-ber 23 or Sunday, December 24 before 5 p.m. If you do call on Christmas Christ-mas Day, place your call in the afternoon. The circuits are less busy then. |
