The couple was nls-o honored at. a reception at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Marshalllown, Iowa, on Friday. August 11. The bride wore a ruffled pinafore pin-afore of chantilly lace over a full length gown of sheer satin organza accented by a high neck of lace and bishop sleeves. The gown featured a full skirt with attached train. Her veil was a cathedral length illusion mantilla accented with matching match-ing Chantilly lace. She carried a cascade bouquet of white orchids, or-chids, steffanogos, and baby's breath. Miss Carol Jean Sokol was maid of honor for her sister, and bridesmaids were Laurie Beth Sokol of Tulsa, Okla., a cousin of the bride, and Connie Marie Tomlinson of Marshall-town, Marshall-town, Iowa. The attendants wore gowns of red and white silk dotted Swiss with puffed sleeves and long sashes. They wore red horsehair picture hats and car. ried bouquets of red sweetheart ! (I i t 4 .S icn f ; : :i , ; V- ' . "'4 - V I-! Mr. and Mrs. Brian Thompson roses, white spider mums, and baby's breath. Mr. Leland G. Thompson of Salt Lake City acted as best man for his son. . The bride's mother wore a full length gown of beige imported im-ported lace. The groom's mother wore a green sheath with an overlay of beige lace. They each wore green cinbidum orchid or-chid corsages. The guest book was attended in Salt Lake City by Mrs. James Miller and Miss Carla Haney- cutt and in Marshalltown by Miss Megan Norris and Miss Daria Wilkening. Music was provided in Salt Lake by Miss Sarolynn Gold and in Iowa by Mrs. Harris Heise. The couple was also honored at an Open House hosted by Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Wright, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Downey, Calif, on Friday, July 21. Friends and relatives attended attend-ed from Calif., Utah, Okla., La., Texas and Mi.nn. Mrs. Thompson is presently attending Brigham Young University Uni-versity at Provo. She will be employed by the Jordan School District to teach first grade at . East Sandy Elementary School in the fall. Mr. Thompson is a 1972 graduate grad-uate of Brigham Young University Uni-versity and is presently pursuing pursu-ing his doctoral studies in Medicinal Med-icinal Chemistry at the University Univer-sity of Utah under a grant from the Department of Health, Education, Edu-cation, and Welfare, studing cancer chemotherapy. After a short wedding trip, the couple will be at home at 718 East 700 South, No. 11, Salt Lake City, Utah. |
