Show UP&L FURNISHES POWER FOR CITY XMAS DECORATIONS A glance at the colorful downtown holiday lights one of the most noticeable signs of the festive season reveals that it's official. Christmas is here. And according to a longstanding long-standing custom, Utah Power & Light Co. again is furishing free electricity to light holiday holi-day decorations installed on city streets and parks as community com-munity projects in towns where the firm's distribution lines run. The gift service is available between dusk and midnight during December, according accord-ing to C. J. Hadley, UP&L Telluride division manager. Mr. Hadley said the company also will run necessary service wires to connect installed lights to the utility lines. Free Christmas lighting to communities where customers are served directly by the company com-pany has baen the custom for many years with Utah Power. Last year the utility provided almost 300,000 kilowatt hours of free electricity to light some 60,000 holiday lamps in 118 cities and towns. Of these more than 5300 bulbs were illuminated il-luminated in 25 communities in the Telluride division area. |
