Spread with Brofled Frosting mixture and place un.Jer broiler as directed elow. Makes 6 servings. BROILED FROSTING Vi cup chopped blanched almonds 3 tablespoons butter '4 c-j' brown sugar 2 taWespoons evaporated milk Spread almonds in shallow pan and brown lightly in oven. Melt butter and stir in sugar, milk and almonds. Spread on applesauce apple-sauce cake and place under broiler until mixture is bubbly, about 2 to 3 minutes. A pan of spicy applesauce cake with broiled frosting and a thermos ther-mos of cold chocolate milk are wonderful to carry along as special treats on a picnic.
