Show Santa Too Busy; Postpones Milford Trip Santa has too busy a schedule to get to Milford on Saturday, Dec. 22, as he had promised, but the Milford youngsters who look forward to Santa's pre-Christmas visit each year and the big stocking full of candy and nuts (and an orange in the, toe) won't be disappointed. Jack Davis, city councilman who always takes care of arrangements for Santa's visit, said he received a radiogram Wednesday from Santa's headquarters saying he just couldn't make it to Milford on the 22nd, but he'd certainly be here on the 24th. Mr. Davis also announced the annual Christmas home and business lighting and decorating contest, with separate sep-arate cash prizes in each category. cat-egory. Judging will be "prior to" Christmas Day, Mr. Davis said, but with so many homes and business establishments participating partici-pating in the contest in past years, "the judges need several evenings to look over all the entries, so it probably will be the entire week end preceding Christmas Tuesday," and urged all residents and businessmen to keep their lights on from this week end until after Christmas. R. H. Ruth has scheduled his annual B & J Chrism tas party for the kiddles for Z p. m. Sunday, Dec. 23. The club will be closed to adults, and only children will be admitted to meet Santa and receive a Christmas stocking. |
