Show on a program called "Patient Government". They then went to the American Amer-ican Fork Training School where the students performed for them. This proved to be very educational, as well as interesting in-teresting for the students. PEP ASSEMBLY Last Friday afternoon a pep assembly was held in the high school gym. The assembly was held for the Milford - Tintic game which took place that night. There was a lot of support sup-port from the students and it proved to be a success. B-TEAM AND SCOUTS PLAY On December 1 the explorer scouts met the B-team in the M. H .S. gym. The starting five for the Explorerss were: Tim Fisher, Ronnie Culver, Arlan Marshall, Jed Thomas' and Roger Memmott. The starting five for the B team were: Russel Horton, Doug Bedingfield, Shirl Nichols, Nich-ols, Jay Long and Alan Jones. The game began at 8:00 p. m. and there 3 8e crowd attendance. atten-dance. The boys fought hard and were rewarded with their first win of the season. The tinal score was Milford 39 Tintic 31. MILFORD DEFEATED IN TIGHT GAME Saturday evening, December 2nd, the Milford High Tigers were defeated by a scrappy Panguitch team by the score 56 to 55. Even though Milford played hard and looked better than they did Friday night, "Lady Luck" was not with them. At the end of regulation play the score was 52 all. But in the 3 minute over-time, Milford Mil-ford couldn't keep up with the scoring of Panguitch and were defeated by a score of 56 to 55. STUDENT HANDBOOK ... The Milford High School Student Council made preparations prepar-ations last week to compose and write a student handbook. Each member of the student council was assigned a number of items to study and prepare for the handbook. The handbook hand-book will not only contain the' constitution, by-laws and am-mendments, am-mendments, but; information dealing with academic, recreation recrea-tion and school policies. If everything goes well the new handbook will be out in the near future to keep the students up to date on school government. This particular project is something entirely new and interesting in-teresting in M. H. S. The student stu-dent council realizing the need for our students to better understand un-derstand their school and its functions; feel this particular type information booklet will aid greatly in the smooth function func-tion of oiur high school. SPEECH CLASS PLAY The speech class will present a Christmas play to the student body on December 22. This will be a one act play and will be a matinee preformance. MILFORD VOLUNTEER FIRE DEPARTMENT DANCE Saturday the 2nd, after the Milford - Panquitch basketball game the Milford Volunteer fire department sponsored a dance. During the dance refreshments re-freshments were available to all. Everyone had a good time. The music was furnished by Jake's orchestra. Prices were twenty-five cents per person. The fire department would like to thank everyone who supported the dance. TIGERETTES MARCH AT HALF TIME The Milford Tigers played their first basketball game of the season on Friday, December Decem-ber 1. The Tigerettes, being divided into two groups of 16 girls each for pre-league games, marched during the half time. The group wore white uniforms uni-forms trimmed with red and white checks. The march was carried out very successfully. Townspeople and students look forward to half time intertain-ment intertain-ment at future home games. RED CROSS NEWS The red cross council held a in the student lounge. Plans meeting Tuesday, November 28, were made for a Christmas party for all the patients in the hospital. A Christmas, tree will be decorated by the Red Cross and favors will be served ser-ved to the patients. After the decorating of the tree. Christmas Christ-mas carols will be sung by all. LETTERMAN'S REFRESHMENT REFRESH-MENT STAND OPENED Last Friday night, during the Milford-Tintic basketball game, the Milford Lettermen opened their refreshment stand. A large variety of candy and pop were sold. This service will continue throughout the basketball bas-ketball season. HEALTH TOUR At 2:00 A. M. Friday the health class of Milford High School traveled to Provo to visit the State Mental Institution Institu-tion at Provo. They arrived at 9 and Mrs. Callahan gave them a briefing about the institution, its history his-tory and functions. They took a guided tour of the building where they saw the patients at work.
