Show MINERSVILLE INFANT DROWNS AT PUFFER LAKE Sammy Gillins, 3 year old son of Mr. and Mrs. Heber Gillins Gil-lins of Minersville, was drowned last Monday when he fell into Puffers Lake while playing along the lake shore. The Gillins family had planned to spend several days fishing at the lake, and were using the Ambrose Dalton summer sum-mer cabin. Mrs. Gillins missed the boy about 5:45, a few minutes min-utes after she had seen him sitting sit-ting on a rock near the water, eating crackers. Taking part in the search were about 25 fishermen and vacationers. Clyde Evans of Beaver spotted the body in the water about 6 p. m., 15 minutes after Mrs. Gillins had last seen him. Evan Nielsen, Forest Service employee, and others applied artificial respiration for an hour and a half, but could not revive him. Funeral services were scheduled sched-uled 'for Thursday afternoon, in the Minersville L D S Church. Samuel Heber Gillins was born March 8, 1954, in Minersville, Miners-ville, a son of Heber Jones and Emily Gentry Gillins. He is survived by his parents, three sisters, Adele, Barbara Ann, and Karen; a half sister, Penny Patterson; grandparents, Mrs. Mabel Gentry of Cedar City and Alba M. Gillins of Minersville. |
