Show A. H. Connell Retires As U P Engineer A. H. Connell of Milford has retired from his duties as railroad rail-road engineer lor the Union Pacific, Pa-cific, after 50 years' service. He made his last trip from Las Vegas to Milford, arriving at 5:30 a. m. Feb. 8th, pulling the City of Los Angeles into Mil-ford. Mil-ford. Mr. Connell began his railroad rail-road career in 1907 in the U P shops at Santa Barbara. In 1910 he became a fireman, and has been an engineer since 1922. He worked for 18 years in California, moving to Milford in 1932. Mr. Connell was born in Winnipeg, Canada, Feb. 8, 1887, to Arthur Henry and Eva Partington. He moved to the Northwestern states with his family, at the age of 6. On April 8, 1920, he married Marvel Wulffensen, in St. George. They have two children, chil-dren, George A. Connell of Provo and La Vera Meeker of Milford, and five grandchildren. grandchil-dren. Mr. Connell is a member of the Elks Lodge and the Union Pacif ic Old Timers Club |
