Show Soph Frosli Hold Sandbag Rush Friday The traditionalSophomore-freshman sand-bag rush will take place Friday, November 5. This event will prevent the frosh men with an opportunity to seek revenge for the humiliating ducking administered to them by the soph class at the fall outing. During the half-time pericd of Friday's game, fifty bags filled with sand will be placed on the fifty-yard and at the sound of the gun sophs and freshies stationed at opposite goal posts will dash for the center, each team set to get the niost bags back to its goal posts. Sophomores predict that they will take the freshies the way Mussolini took Ethiopia. It's a snap, they claim. Immediately following the broadcast all students joined hands and snake-danced their way through town, stopping traffic, chanting, and finally reaching the Egyptian theater where a theater party and another rally was held. Banners have been hung at the hotel where the Ricks team is staying. Every effort has been made to extend gestures of good sportsmanship to the visiting team, and ye college cheering section will split the ozone with more than apple cores today. "Let's get Ricks quick!" The kickoff is at 2:30 p.m. sharp. Weber To Meet Westminster Soon The game Ogden football fans have been waiting for finally comes to the Ogden Stadium, Armistice day, November 11. With the Wildcats of Ogden and Westminister College of Salt Lake City colliding in a game that will probably decide the state junior college championship. Besides being a sensation so far as crowd interest is concerned this conflict between the junior colleges of the two neighboring cities promises to test the potential power of the Wildcats to lift the intermoun-tain junior college title. If the Weberites are capable of playing the impressive ball they did in their 13-4 defeat at the hands of Compton, this game ought to get it out of them. If they play the type of footbi.ll they displayed at the U. A. C, they are apt to take a bad licking. Ill Faculty Subdues Engineers .... In a hard fought (take a look at Locktrog's eye if you don't think so) contest on the diamond behind the school Wednesday night the faculty proved that its age over beauty when they took the engineers of the bridge to the tune of 9 to 8. The outstanding star for the faculty proved to be President Dixon, who played a bang up game at score keeper. A slight controversy developed when it was revealed that the. faculty had slipped in an extra player while the engineers were being figured out of two or three runs. The farmer freshmen first team took the game in hand from the opening play, and it was just a question of time until they began piling up the score. Ryan, Winger and Slater scored for the Aggies. S. Maughan converted twice. Bob Davis played his second string most of the game and allowed the regulars to see service only in the 'latter portion of the final quarter. Davis is probably resting his regulars, some of whom were injured in their game with Compton at California, for the inter-mountain junior college league game with Ricks college Friday. Declines Position to Attend Weber George Johnson, only negro student at Weber, is interested in mining engineering and spends a lot of time in preparation. He has followed diesel engineering and only lr.st year was offered work with a company in Centr;l Africa. Fie declined because he believes that after he has had four years' schooling, mining will be exoanding in Chile. Lie is pretty sure of a job there and, above all, he wants to be in that country. Fie worked on a diner last summer, but when the hours conflicted with his course at Weber, he resigned.
