Show INDIANS IN WYOMING. Sioux and Bannocks AXnst be Removed Form the State. Cheyenne, Wyo., Aug. 20. Governor Richards received a letter from Deputy Game Warden Pyle of Fremont county, stating that he had gone out with the Shoshone Indian police on a visit to bhe Indian bandits in Jackson's Hole, tvho have been slaughtering game, to prevail upon them to return quietly to their reservations. This end will be iccomplished peaceably, if possible, but by force, if necessary. The Sioux Indians have commenced their annual visits into Converse county coun-ty from the Pine Eidge agency, and Governor Richards has telegraphed the secretary of the interior, requesting him to put a stop to the depredations before there is a conflict between the white settlers.'and the Indians. The reds annually destroy lots of property and kill game and steal stock, and th people are tired of it. |
