Show from some of our esteemed friends from St. George, Hon. Ed. H. Snow, David H. Morris, their families, and a number num-ber of their friends, who were all on their way to the Lake to benefit themselves them-selves and their children in the way of health, and to attend the M. I. Conference. Confer-ence. Leeds will also have a fair representation rep-resentation there, as we have fitted-out and sent five wagonloads of our people, mostly of the younger class, to enjoy that high altitude and attend Confer-encd. Confer-encd. We trust they will be protected and benefitted, as the majority of us are there represented. A couple of our esteemed citizens received re-ceived each a letter yesterday from "Box B." They are expected to bo ready in the near future to start with their knapsacks to proclaim the everlasting ever-lasting Gospel. Another of our esteemed citizens, Mrs. Elizabeth Wilkinson, was united in the bonds of matrimony, in the St. George Temple, with the well-known and worthy James McKnight, last Saturday. Sat-urday. The happy couple left here on Monday for Minersville, the home of the bridegroom. Our water is running low and there is a fair prospect of our "water wars" to be well on by the 15th of next month. On Sunday, the 17th, we had a visit from a couple of our home missionaries, Melvin M. Harmon and Geo. P. Cot-tain. Cot-tain. Their remarks were timely, pithy and to the point, and were appreciated by the people. Our election campaign will soon be on. We trust, with the experience we now have, it will end with good feeling, and with tha best men elected to office, regard' ss of creed or color. 1 " B. M. Leeds, Utah, July 19, 1898. LEEDS. To the editor of ur own little paper: I say "our own," because I think we should so consider it. And every citizen citi-zen of our county should see to it, that we do what we can to make it a success, suc-cess, for we know it cannot stand unless patronized by the people. It is reasonable reason-able to suppose that unless we are interested in-terested in our "own paper" and support sup-port it, others will not. We have long needed an able paper published in this part of our state, should we not appreciate appre-ciate the. present opportunity and not let it pass unsupported:' Everything quiet today.
