Show SMELTER STRIKE OVER. Union Men of Colorado Have Decided to Resume Work. Denver, Colo., Aug. 1G The strike of the employes of the American Smelting Smelt-ing and Refining company's plants in Colorado was declared off at a meeting of the Smeltermen's union in this city. The action was taken upon the recommendation recom-mendation of the executive committee of the strikers. The resolutions adopted on the recommendations rec-ommendations by the exeoutive committee com-mittee make note of the fact that the decision to call off the strike was due to the refeotion of the American members mem-bers of the union, the foreigners having hav-ing all along stood out for a continu" ance of the lockout. The resolutions also advises all the men who went out fifty-nine days ago when the strike was declared, to return re-turn to work as soon as they are offered of-fered their old positions. It is thought now that it is but a question of a short time until all the plants of the American Ameri-can Smelting and Refining company in Colorado will be going in full blast. |
