Jackson arrived home on the 1 -t inst. in perfect health after a two years mission in California. Mis. Charles Stanley was quite sever' dy injured by failing through a-trap a-trap door into the cellar on the evening even-ing of June 2Sth. ITon. Thomas Judd with the experiment experi-ment farm commissioners arrived at Toquerville June .loth and examined the Le Verkin bench location. They started north next day. On the evening of July 3rd the citizens citi-zens of Toquerville. 'as is usual with them, held an interesting picnic entertainment enter-tainment in the Public Hall to welcome wel-come Elder William P. Jackson, returned re-turned missionary. An enjoyable evening even-ing was spent in songs, recitations, games, etc. As the 4th of July comes but once a year in Toquerville. the citizens thereof vied with each other to make it a success. suc-cess. ORDER OF PROCESSION": .Martial Band Veterans of !776 Goddess of Liberty Mothers of 1770 Utah Red Cross Society Schools, Citizens, Rough Riders, etc. At the Public Hall the citizens enjoyed en-joyed a treat in listening' to choice singing, sing-ing, music, recitations, inspiring ora-tional ora-tional emanations from leading forensic lights, the whole culminating as a grand tableau. The afternoon was occupied oc-cupied in games, etc., including a dance for the young' folks, and the usual wind-up by adults in the evening. |
