Show ISSUED A MANIFESTO. Gen. Gomez and Others Make Appeal to Cubans. Havana, Dec. 9. The Emilio Nunez Patriotic club, composed of Spaniards and Cubans, has issued a manifesto to the Cuban peolpe. It says in part: "Cubans are unnecessarily anxious with regard to the intentions of the United States government. The facta do not warrant their suspicions. Heretofore Here-tofore the Americans have kept strictly strict-ly to the terms of the joint resolution of Congress and the recent declarations of secretary Root bid fair to fulfill the desires of Cubans, who are now to be thoroughly united. Even those among us who were formerly the subjects of a hostile nation now recognize the justice jus-tice of the claims of Cuba." The manifesto is signed by Gen. Maximo Maxi-mo Gomez, Senor Gonzales, Senor Me-sonier Me-sonier and other well-known Cubans. |
