Show The Gardens and Orchards First. Learn your children the art of gardening gar-dening thoroly. With all the mining, railroads, and what nots with which we are threatened, there is no gotting away from the fact that this section is destined to become one big garden spot. The time is not far distant when no lucern or wheat will be found growing- here; but in place thereof will be found the choicest peaches, nectarines, apricots, almonds, figs, grapes, ete. Tho land will be too valuable to give over to such crops as lucerne and wheat. The people will make plenty of money to buy these necessaries from their northern neighbors. Aud if the people that now own the land do not improve their opportunities, others will come in and do it, to the sad loss of the present owners. There is water in plenty; it only wants bringing out and storing. Here again outside capital will obtain control if the opportunity to build reservoirs is allowed to pass by the present owners of land here. |
