| Show JACOB santa clara nov 26 1918 acob tobler was born in and feb 14 1833 and aled at santa clara utah nov 22 1918 at the ripe old age of 85 ars yrs 9 mo and 8 days he joined the church ot jesus christ ot latter day saints in bis native country and soon thereafter to utah about 1861 remaining in salt lake city about three months and then continuing his journey south until santa clara was reached there he made his home laboring under very severe difficulties and hardships but he never complained and was always content bro tobler raised a large and respectable spec table family consisting of the following children gran lc hildren and great grandchildren children alive 16 dead 6 grandchildren alive 86 dead 14 great grandchildren alive 24 dead 2 bro tobler also bad two wives precede him to the great beyond his aged surviving wife 83 years old and children have the sympathy of the entire community owing to the flu funeral services were conducted at the residence dp frel conducting the speakers were john haten christian stuck theodore grat and bp edw R frel all spoke of the excellent character etc of the deceased his remains were interred in the santa clara his children came from mesquite and overton nev enterprise and washington utah to attend the funeral the santa clara ward choir furnished excellent music for the occasion bro tobler has been a silent sufferer tor years but was never known to complain he held many ecclesiastical positions being counselor to two bishops marlus ensign and john G haten a great number of years also ward clerk tor about 36 years was a member of the ast 1st swiss choir and brass band of santa clara the grave was dedicated by bp frel and was covered with flowers |
