Show leeds oct 1 helen elizabeth leany mcmullan ln wife of ira S me mullin of leeds died at the home of her daughter mrs etta mariger in salt lake sept ath where she had gone in hopes of her health which had been poor tor some time she was born sept 4 1850 in salt lake a daughter ot william and elizabeth leany pioneers of 1847 to silt lake in 1861 to paro wan and to harrisburg in the winter of 1863 deceased was married to ira S mcmullan ln in the temple at salt lake dec 7 1874 she was the mother of seyen children two having died in their infancy she moved to leeds with her family in 1877 and when the first primary was organized in the ward by sister ellza R snow she was made president was also the first president of Y L M I 1 A organized in the ward and at the time of her death was president of the relief society which office she held tor the past 16 years deceased is survived by five children and seven grandchildren all of whom attended the funeral but her youngest child karl who Is somewhere overseas with uncle sam s forces the funeral services were splendidly attended remarks were made by elders cottam and atkin of st george and B Y mcmullan ln of leeds all paid glowing tribute to the busy and useful career or sister mcmullan ln and we as a community already feel the loss of her greatly her life haa been one of good events always ready to assist the needy and unfortunate A beautiful floral offering was sent by the mariger bros of salt lake solos wag rendered toy prof J H mc ailster miss polly kemp ol 01 st george and mrs minnie harris of leeds with miss evlyn thurston of st george and miss ruth stirling of leeds at the organ the community extends its sympathy to the family in the loss ot wile and mother |
