Show mrs higgins called mrs francis higgins died last wednesday night at the local hospi tal following an operation on the previous day for the removal of several large gall stones the operation atas a very serious one but mrs higgins withstood it well and seemed to be getting aloi g fine until wednesday afternoon when ehe began to sink she was in a weakened condition having been sick for a long time and in spite of the best care and attention she passed away agnes higggs was born in ayrshire scotland june 28 a daughter of mr and mrs john ne her parents were members of the L D S church and she joined it about 1882 and came to utah in 1883 one month after her mothers death leaving her father in scotland she waa married to francis E higgins in 1884 and has lived in this city ever since with the exception of a few years spent in the northern part of the state mrs higgins was the mother of ten children nine of whom survive her she leaves a husband three bons eons frank of spokane wash john of this city and leo who lives at enterprise six daughters mrs georgo bradett of ophir mrs le roy jay mrs wilford thompson and the misses vilate ada and jessie all of this city all of the children were present at the funeral she leaves twelve grandchildren t two brothers john off salt lake city and matthew me murtrie of garland survive her and her two sisters mra robert gray of central and mrs wilson tullis of newcastle attended the funeral and returned to their bomea the next morning funeral services were held in the stake tabernacle sunday afternoon bishop james mcarthur conducting them the choir furnished the singing and a quartette was led by mrs ellis J Pic kelt bishop james mcarthur and elder john E pace were the speakers both offering words of comfort and encouragement to the grief stricken family A large number of autos followed the remains to the where interment was made there were many beautiful floral tributes the grave being entirely covered with flowers by the girl friends of jessie her youngest child |
