Show obituary P MORRIS mrs emma emina P morris died it at her home in thi thia city november 15 1416 of ol 01 i age sister morns morris wa born in read it g england adril 21 1833 i 1 daugh ter of isaac and sophia packer she joined the church of jesus christ of latter day saints in her native land ind and was the first con vert of elder richard morris who afterwards married her on the first day of december 1855 on board ship the first day out of liver pool on their way to utah she and her tier husband arrived in bew evv york january 1 1806 where they remained until the spring ot of 1860 when they began their journey to ut jt ih ill where they arrived october octo r 1860 having t tie e plains by ox team in 1867 her was to settle in st george to w which lc place they came arriving the litter latter part of november of that year where she resided until the time of her death she gae gane birth to eleven children four sons SODS and seven daughters all of whom are living except one son who died in infancy and one daugh ter mary N w ho died a few years ago her descendants are 11 children 60 grandchildren 43 of which are living and 29 great grandchildren 28 of which ire living making a total of with 80 living her surviving children are richard A david H and st george morris morri mrs u dora dark clark mrs ather whitehead mrs eva whitehead mrs airs ida mr mrs i oreba 4 andrus and mrs isa iga grun ly IV funeral services were hell heli in the st george tabernacle on saturday nov 38 18 under direction of bishop james mcarthur the fhe speakers were bider george F jarvis who was a member of the same company as deceased dece aed wl en ell they crossed the plana pi pres thomas P cottam pres D divid avid H cannon an I 1 ida dr F J each of whom bore testimony v to the stirling worth or of the departed mister sister interment was male ma ie in the city cemetery sister morns mortis was a good kindly sul a true and devoted wife a kind and loving mother a good neighbor and a true ail and faithful laith faithful ful member of the church with which she he ails affiliated during tl e lot lat ter years of her life and until the infirmities of old age prevented she devoted considerable time to temple works being very highly esteemed by her fellow workers ELIZABETH mrs elizibeth krebs died da at her tier home in this city NN ed november 15 1916 of old age deceased was born at ball berg berne canton switzerland sept 27 1833 a daughter of john and madaline kreba krebs with ler bus hus band she joined the church of jesus christ of latter dav day saints in her native land and together with their only child they came to utah ar riving the latter part pirt ot of june 1874 they staged in salt lake city three days and were then called to go to the dixie country their first place of residence was price a few miles from st george afterwards moving to st t george where nn and her son have since re sided her husband died a little over a year after thea the arrived in dixie she is survived by her only child bild a son christain wh wit is unmarried mrs was devoted to her religion a kind mother a sin cerp cere woman and a good funeral services were held in the st george tabernacle thursday nov 16 under direction 0 of B shop I 1 C mcfarlane Mcfail ane the speakers being pres david H cannon and pre rhomas P catam interment was w as made in the city cemetery mrs rowena pul aph er wife of john died suddenly at hei this city last thursday night nov 16 1916 mrs oher niter had taken a bath I 1 lefore retiring r for the night and shortly after going to bed was seized with acute congestion of the lungs the attack carrying her off in a very short time she had for sometime sut with I 1 eart trouble her hus bant ban 1 who was at enterprise wag imme hately noti fiel ani ini arrived here early t tt e following morning rower a was vas born at salt lake city september 28 1859 i 1 daigh daughter ter of joseph jseph G and arid chris una tina 0 romney bhe she was married to george J woodbury wood bury at the st george temple in 1881 and by him ha I 1 three children chil dien george joseph joeph and christina after the death of her tier first hustind she was married to john M at the bt st george temple in ly and by him had three children Ft ather her bell and will the children of the first marriage are all married george md ind joseph residing at enterprise christina being married to dr joseph walker of rexburg idaho she is also survived by three grandchildren all the children were at the funeral funeral services were ere held in the stake tabernacle monday afternoon the speakers being elder D H morris pres D H cannon and pres ea 11 snow bishop I 1 C mac mae earlane farlane conducting the services music must wag furnished by mrs W R pike and jos wm win mcallister interment was made in the city cemetery mrs waga a dutiful wife 4 a fond and affectionate mother and a kind neighbor |
