Show M.P. Robert K. Burgess Dies In Military Hospital, February 13th So far as is known, the second man of the 115th Engineers, who left St. George in March, 1941, to pay the supreme sacrifice, is M. P. Robert Knell Burgess, 29, who died at the Klammath Falls, Oregon Ore-gon military hospital Tuesday, Feb. 13 after a brief and sudden illness. News of his death was received by his parents at 6 p. m. Tuesday in a wire from the hospital. hospi-tal. Plans for the funeral await the arrival of the body from Oregon. He was born in St. George on Sept. 27, 1915, a son of Milton and Clara Cannon Burgess. He completed elementary and high school work and graduated from Dixie junior college. Surviving besides his parents are two sisters, Mrs. Glen Quigley of Salt Lake City and Bonita Burgess of St. George; two brothers, broth-ers, Pvt. Rodney Burgess in training train-ing at Camp Maxie, Texas and Clive Burgess, whose induction into the U. S. Navy has been temporarily postponed, due to his brother's death. His maternal grandmother, Mrs. Rhoda Knell Cannon, 88, is with her daughter, Mrs. Joseph Webb in Hurricane. Please watch next week's issue of the News for obituary and details of funeral services. |
