Ralph J. Bennett motored in from Caliente to visit relatives returning' Wednesday. Editor and Mrs. Edgar R, Simpson and son, Richard, returned re-turned from a ten-day vacation in Los Angeles and Pasadena, where they visited relatives and friends. Mrs. Alma McGregor of Provo is spending the week in St. George, due to the serious illness of her son, Dr. L. W. McGregor. Earl Hafen, Dean Snow, Homer Robertson and Russell Hansen returned re-turned last Thursday from the Coast, where they reported earlier in the week for Army Air Corps service, and were given extended furloughs until called. This was not long for the latter three were called Friday morning and left that evening to begin their training. train-ing. -,'f R. A. Morris Jr., arrived last Saturday to visit with relatives for several days, as guests at the home of his sister, Miss Orpha Morris. ::- Julius Lemperle arrived' Saturday Satur-day from Mesa, Ariz., where he has been attending the Temple the past several weeks, and plans to remain until the end of this week doing Temple work in the St. George Temple. Rulon Everett returned Sunday evening to Los Angeles after spending the week with relatives in St. George, a guest at the home of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. E. A. Everett. He is attending school and working in Los Angeles. An-geles. Mr. and Mrs. Alma Millett and baby arrived Saturday from Los Angeles to visit for several days with Mrs. Millett's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Leo A. Snow, and in Cedar City with Mr. Millett's family. Brigham Jarvis returned late Monday from Salt Lake City, where he has been since last Thursday visiting with his children child-ren and on business. He was accompanied ac-companied home by his granddaughter, grand-daughter, Carol Jean Parsons, who will remain for an extended visit. Mr. and Mrs. A. F. Miles and granddaughter, Miss Edith Crosby left Wednesday morning for Salt Lake City, Mr. Miles to attend the Bankers' convention, the others to visit. Mrs. Mae Harris, Mrs. John W. Pace, Mrs. A. B. Andrus and Mrs. George Brooks left Tuesday morning morn-ing for Provo, where they will meet another sister, Mrs. Joseph Allen of Mapleton and the group will go on to Salt Lake City to join their aunt, Mrs. Olive Mel-drum Mel-drum and two daughters for a tour of L. D. S. Temples. Dr. and Mrs. Gilbert Hyatt returned re-turned Sunday evening from Los Angeles, where they. attended the graduation of their son. Ivan Polos Hyatt from the dental college of the University of Southern California Cali-fornia on Saturday. They report that Pr. Jarvis observed her fifth birthday birth-day anniversary Wednesday afternoon aft-ernoon with a lawn party. Mrs. -Glenn Waite of Bunkerville is a patient at the local hospital Mr. -and Mrs. Anson Call Jr., and family are spending the week in Provo with relatives and on business. Mrs. Mark Nelson was a surgery surg-ery case at the local hospital on June 7th. Mrs. E. Penn Smith and children child-ren are leaving this week end for Salt Lake City, where they will join Mr. Smith, who has employment employ-ment in the Remington Arms plant. Mrs. 'Vere Beckstrom was a surgery patient in the local hospital hos-pital June 8th. Dr. and Mrs. Rodney Snow motored up from California over the week end and went on to Pine Valley to visit relatives. .... .... o.. Simpkins of Clover Valley and James Bracken of Central Cen-tral are surgery patients at the local hospital this (Thusrday) morning. Gam and Keith Heaton arrived ar-rived in St. George last Friday, Keith expecting to report his recent re-cent L. D. S. mission. However, both boys are receiving special medical care in preparation for joining the Army Air Corps and were in hospitalization at Cedar City over Sunday. The S. D. K. club members were entertained last Friday evening by Miss LaWana Hyatt at her home. :: Mrs. Glenn Prisbrey left this (Thursday) morning for Salt Lake City, where she will visit during the week. She was accompanied by her daughter. Dr. L. W. McGregor, who was stricken last week with an attack at-tack of coronary thrombosis, is reported making improvement at his home. This (Thursday) evening, Mrs. B. G. Milne is entertaining a group of relatives and friends at the home of her mother, Mrs. Mae Harris, honoring her sister, Mrs. Smith, prior to her departure. Table games, music and lunch will make up the program. Mrs. Lewis Peetol was hostess to the Bridge Ettes at her home Wednesday afternoon. First prize was won by Mrs. Willard Milne and second prize by Mrs. Rulon Pectol. |
