Show Hurricane CCC Camp Turns Over Book Collection To Co. Library Washington county library has had the equivalent of another visit from Santa Claus, in the opinion of Roxey S. Romney, librarian, who reports an amazing gift of books from the recently disbanded Hurricane CCC camp, who turned over gratis, their entire educational educa-tional library, covering volumes of the very finest books and pamphlets, pam-phlets, affording an entirely different dif-ferent line of reading and study material than that already on the shelves, as well as supplementing some lines of books already on hand. In all her years as librarian, librar-ian, although many fine books have been contributed, this amazing amaz-ing gift is something beyond anything any-thing she has experienced. These books, says Mrs. Romney, would have cost hundreds of dollars, dol-lars, and represent a contribution as fitting and worthy as the many projects in river control, highway building, soil conservation, fencing, fenc-ing, and other beneficial work done in this county and throughout through-out the United States by these groups of boys. The long line of books include volumes on all of the master trades: woodwork, forestry, building, build-ing, forging, stock breeding, agricultural agri-cultural activities, and many other lines of trades and vocations, with the most up-to-the-minute materials, ma-terials, as well as a fine line of books otherwise. The books are all in good condition, although they have had use. While the librarian has been budgeting carefully in the hope of beginning the collection of just (Continued on page five) CCC Book Gift (Continued from first page) such a line of informative and educational material, the actual purchasing seemed still in the distance. dis-tance. And then to receive without with-out purchase, such a tremendous contribution, has boon fairly overwhelming, over-whelming, says Mrs. Romnry. in expressing gratefulness in behalf of the county for this timely gift. Many of the hooks and pamphlets pam-phlets are in duplicate and those will bo shared with the library' at Hurricane, so that both of these units will be materially N-n fitted.
