Show ME5QUITE Mrs. Daisy L. Keber Tie porter The Relief Society gave a Fathers' Day party Sunday afternoon for all the fathers and their wives. Games were played after which ice cream and cake were served. Miss Edith Knight left Monday for school at the U. of U. She will attend the session of summer school. Mr. and Mrs. Lyman Abbott of Las Vegas spent Sunday visiting their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Thom-as Abbott, and Mr. and Mrs. Victor Vic-tor Knight. Mary Ann (Grandma) Hafen spent last week visiting with her children and grand-children here. Those who attended Mrs. Delia Fordham's funeral at St. George were: Mr. and Mrs. Ralston Reber, Mrs .Mary Reber, Leonard Reber, Mrs. M. Leavitt, Mrs. Emily Hughes, Mrs. Max Hafen, Mrs. Anne Hughes, and Mrs. Mary Jane Abbott. Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Hughes will leave this Thursday for Reno to attend a Postmasters Convention. Conven-tion. The Misses Naomi and Lorna Fordham will go with them where they will attend summer school. Mrs. Lara Barnum was hostess to the Mesquite Literary Club last Thursday. The members went to the Relief Society house where they helped finish a quilt. They voted to spend the summer months doing sewing and quilting. Refreshments Re-freshments were served at Mrs. Barnum's home. Miss Pearl Locke, the newly appointed County Agent, was here all day Thursday organizing the -4-H Clubs. Mr. and Mrs. John Bauer and family left for Cedar City Wednesday Wednes-day for a short visit. Brent Bauer returned home from Hawthorne, Nevada, where he has been employed. Mr. and Mrs. Earlin Tobler have returned from Logan where he spent a week at a coach's school. |
