Show 'Colonial America' Theme Of Legion Auxiliary Season-Closing Program "Colonial America" was the theme of the program featured in the season-closing session of the American Legion Auxiliary, which was attended by a large group of members and guests. Following the presentation of the colors and singing of patriotic songs, two vocal trios were presented pre-sented by Melba Baker Alice Cannon Can-non and Mary Lou Wells, with Mrs. Mae A. Pace accompanying. Mrs. William Brooks gave the interesting in-teresting background of the American Indians of the colonial period and briefly their history in America. Election of officers for the ensuing en-suing year placed Violet Esplin as president, Cuba Hall of Washington, Wash-ington, first, and Paula A Mathis of St. George second vice-presidents, Mae Harris is historian, Jessie Wulffenstein is sergeant-at-arms, and Agnes Pendleton is color bearer. The secretary and treasurer will be appointed later and the installation of officers takes place in August. Delegates were chosen to attend the district convention to be held in Parowan, June 27. and for the department convention at Logan in August. The evening's program concluded conclud-ed with rook; Zetta Worthen. Rachel G. Judd and Vera Mitchell sharing honors. |
