Show MESQUITE, Nev. Mrs. Daisy L. Keber Reporter A social honoring all outgoing Relief society and Sunday school officers was held Saturday night Gifts of appreciation were given Margaret Pulsipher, Nelda Houston Hous-ton and Emily Hughes of the Relief society and Walter Hughes, Orson Leavitt, Orange Barnum, Vilate Knight, Thelma Abbott, Nell Granger and Lenora Leavitt of the Senior and Junior Sunday school organizations. Mrs. Doris Wagoness left last week to join her husband at his training camp in Texas for a few weeks visit. Mrs. Ethel Hughes and family returned to Hawthorne Saturday after spending two weeks here visiting at the home of her parents, par-ents, Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Tobler. Mrs. Mary Ann Hafen and daughter, Mrs. Mary H. Leavitt left Sunday evening to visit in Las Angeles with Mrs. Leavitfs children, Mrs. Aura Allen and Dudley Leavitt. The dairies of Moapa Valley and Virgin Valley sponsored a barbeque Sunday evening. A large crowd attended and a good tune was reported. J Alfred Tobler, who has been quite ill for the past few weeks is reported a little better at thus time. The Primary is in charge of the program for the 4th of July. A program during the morning with children's sports in the afternoon after-noon and a dance a night is planned. A quilting party was held at the Alfred Tobler home Wednesday Wednes-day afternoon. Ira Reber spent Tuesday in Las Vegas on business. The beet seed is all harvested now, and everyone seems to have had a good crop. Mrs. Nell Granger was hostess to the Singing Mothers club Friday Fri-day afternoon. The Literary club met at the home of Mrs. William Jones on Thursday. Mrs. Leonard Reber reviewed the book "For This, My Glory." |
