Show Papers Restricted Recent restrictions have been passed concerning the sending of newspapers ami magazines to service men and women overseas. In the past, subscriptions could be taken for Marines or Navy personnel without written requests from them being filed with the publishers, although all Army personnel person-nel overseas were required to file such a request. Under the recently revised re-vised regulations, all service ser-vice men and women, whether wheth-er Army, Navy or Marines, if overseas, must file a written writ-ten request, either for a first subscription or for subsequent renewals. These orders are made to save the stacking up and non-delivery of unwanted newspapers news-papers and magazines. Because of the rapid shifting shift-ing of military units, and the fact that this type of mail must await its turn in shipping, families are asked to meet the situation, preferably pre-ferably by sending clippings with each letter rather than sending full newspapers or magazines, where this can be done satisfactorily. |
