Show Dixie College News Betty Lou Gardner and Vivian Snow were delegates of the Dixie college at a recent convention for home economics students at the University of Utah. Experts in the field addressed students on the relationship of home economics to the home, to the professional field and to the community and state. Permanent organizations were perfected, and plans were laid for additional workshops to be held. Weber college col-lege will be host in the spring and the B Y U next fall. The journalism class visited the Washington County News Tuesday and learned of the mechanical setup set-up of a newspaper publication. They discovered that this aspect of journalism is probably the least understood by students of journalism journal-ism and by the public in general, but that it is a fundamental part of newspaper work. ' The Lambda Delta Sigma club enjoyed a rollicking Halloween party Monday night, with 83 members and guests present. The j entertaining committee consisted j of Blanche Pitchforth, Jane Laup-' er, Jeneal Moody, Virgie Snow, Melva Rene Woodward, lone Heaton and Jeraldine Judd. Gardner Snow and Joyce Milne I have been appointed joint manag- ers of high school debating. This work is studied in regular classes. class-es. A series of debates will be planned for the year. Thomas Blazzard has been appointed ap-pointed assistant custodian at the j college. He will work with Urie Macfarlane. College visitors from the state school office last Thursday and Friday were: E. Allen Bateman, state superintendent; Burton K. Farnsvvorth, state supervisor of secondary education; and Miss Jennie Campbell, state supervisor of elementary education. President Glenn .E. Snow announces an-nounces the purchase of a complete com-plete sound and projection system to augment class work and activity acti-vity programs at the college. Dr. Ross Hardy has been appointed to supervise this work. He has already ordered a number of silent and sound films to be shown the students.
