Show Prize Awards Offered for Newly Created Design For Forthcoming Stamp Final approval of the creation of a Utah Centennial postage stamp, to celebrate the 100th anniversary an-niversary of the settlement of Utah, has been given by the post-office post-office department of the federal government, Gus P. Backman, Salt Lake City, director of the Centennial announced this week. The stamp will be ready for printing and distribution in 1947. Utah Covered Wagon . Days, Inc., which for years has promoted promot-ed Pioneer Day celebrations in Salt Lake City, is offering three prizes: a $50.00 war bond first prize; a $25.00 war bond second prize; and a $25.00 war bond, third prize, for the best sugges-i sugges-i tions. The winners will be determined deter-mined by judges to be appointed by the Centennial Commission. Judging will be on a basis .of 75 for written ideas, plus 25 for the quality of any sketch submitted. sub-mitted. Anyone in the state of Utah may compete.
