Show County Meat Committee Members Appointed By County War Board Aimed directly at controlling black market activties in meat handling, the Washington county USDA war board was instructed this week to set up a county war meat committee to work with both producers and consumers. Committee members will be selected se-lected from livestock producers, meat handlers, health officials and community leaders, Wilford A. Schmutz, chairman of the war board declared. They will work as a sub-committee of the war board to review and pass on slaughtering permits and quotas and will carry on educational work with the public and with livestock and meat handlers to make sure that black, markets do not interfere with with the. nation's na-tion's war effort. This action follows the selection last Friday at. the state USDA war bord meeting of J. Worth Gutke, state supervisor of food distribution administration, as state, meat marketing supervisor. |
