Show Information Relative To WAYES Issued By U. S. Navy Department In short they are those patriotic young women of the United States, who are enlisting in the Navy for duty at shore stations, within the continental limits of the United States, so that men they replace can be transferred to the various ships that are being launched every day, where they are so badly needed. They are women who want this war to end at the earliest possible moment, so that maybe a brother, sweetheart sweet-heart or husband can come home again. Urgent Need for Women There is a very urgent need for women, between the ages of 20 and 36, to replace thousands of well-trained Navy men, now stationed sta-tioned at shore stations. Did you know that within 24 hours from the time a WAVE reports re-ports for duty at a shore station the man she replaces will have his orders and be on his way to his new ship or station? WAVES are needed at Navy bases throughout the continental United States to do all types of office work. They also are needed to fill jobs in radio communications, communica-tions, storekeeping and as parachute para-chute riggers, photographers, stewards, stew-ards, telegraph and telephone operators, op-erators, tower watchers and many others. There are important positions posi-tions in the WAVES for women with experience in practically every field of business and industry. in-dustry. There is also a need for those who have no special skill or experience, as long as they can meet the physical and educational educa-tional requirements, , Navy training train-ing will take care of the rest, fit them in a few short months for the post where they will be of greatest service to their country and to themselves. Some people have the mistaken idea that they perform part-time 1 "glamour" jobs. For those of you that have this idea we want to ! say that their duties are just the 1 same as the man they replace. They are just as important and ' necessary to the service as the f men working in a submarine or battleship or any other Naval vessel. ves-sel. In reality they indirectly do these things, by releasing a man from a shore station that is qualified quali-fied to perform the various duties aboard ship. Age Limit, 20 to 36 If you are a woman between the ages of 20 to 36, with two years of high school or business college, either single or married, without children under the age of 18, it is your patriotic duty to investigate investi-gate the WAVE program. You can be of great help to your country by replacing the men at shore stations, who are qualified to take up their duties with the fleet. You can also help yourself by helping your country, as Navy pay is as good, if not better, than other places when everything is taken into consideration: The clothing allowance is ample to take care of your complete outfit, which was especially designed by the famous stylist Mainbocher.
