Show Death Came Wednesday To Hyrum Thompson After Months of Illness Death came at 2:45 a.m., Wednesday, Wed-nesday, July 28, to release Hyrum S. Thompson, 62, from prolonged months of suffering. He has been a total invalid for almost three years from diabetic and other complications com-plications and died at his home in this city, where his wife has cared for him faithfully since he was stricken. Born In St. George Born in St. George Dec. 27, 1880 he was a son of William H. and Agnes Perkes Thompson, and had his schooling here. His mother was a doctor and the plural wife of William Thompson. He apprenticed to Charles S. Cottam Cot-tam as a young man to learn the carpenter's trade, which he has followed, assisting in many build-ings build-ings and other construction projects, proj-ects, both in St. George and elsewhere. else-where. As a young very man he was recognized for his athletic ability and for many years belonged to the old St. George baseball club. He won much recognition at athletic ath-letic meets in this area, especially in racing. . , On Jan. 3, 1901, he was married in the St. George Temple to Florence Flor-ence Adele Schmutz of this city, who bore him five children, four 6f whom are living.
