Show Registration At College To Begin On Monday Special Assemblies To Be Held for Each Group; Faculty Complete Dixie college will begin the school year on Monday, Sept. 11, with the registration of students on that date. Class instruction will begin the following day. College students will commence registration at 9 a. m. Twelfth ) grade students will register at 10 and continue throughout the day. A special assembly will be held in the auditorium at 9 for all eleventh grade students, following fol-lowing which their registration will take place. Selection of courses will close at 4:30. College Faculty Complete The college faculty is now complete, com-plete, with the employment of Miss Stella Dixon, as instructor in home economics. Miss Dixon taught last year at Snow college. Before that she had experience in the Farrer junior high school at Provo and in the Wasatch high school at Heber City. The only other new face on the faculty fac-ulty is Miss Barbara Rasmussen, who will take care of the piano and vocal music departments. Miss Rasmussen graduated last spring from the B. Y. U., where she also served as special instructor. in-structor. The remaining members. of the faculty include: Glenn E. Snow, president; A- K. Hafen, English and modern languages; Earl J. Bleak, music; H. L. Reid, history and social sciences; B. GJen Smith, v dean of men, registrar, education; Leland Hafen, American history and physical education; M. M. Bentley, treasurer and accounting; Linna Snow, dean of women, English; Eng-lish; M. J. Miles, physical sciences sci-ences and aeronautics; Ellis Everett, Ev-erett, mathematics; Ralph Huntsman, Hunts-man, art; 'Charles Merkley, mechanic me-chanic arts; Ross Hardy, biological biologi-cal sciences; Earl B. Cottam, industrial in-dustrial arts; John T. Woodbury, debating and social science; Myrtle E. Henderson, speech and librarian; librar-ian; Stanley Watts, physical education edu-cation and health; Pauline F. Christensen, physical education and health; T. Wendell Bayles, business; Ray Garner, agriculture. Special folders outlining the various divisions of the college were distributed this year in lieu of the regular catalog. Students desiring descriptions of specific courses may obtain them from last year's catalog, copies of which may be obtained the office. The class schedule will be ready for distribution Monday morning. Need far Student Housing President Snow again calls attention at-tention to the public as to the urgent need of places to housa Prospective students. Small as the enrollment is likely to be, some students have already been turned away because no place was available avail-able for them to stay. The Morris Mor-ris home is being transformed Into an apartment house, but this W'H not be ready for use at the opening of school. All patrons of the college who can possibly find a spare room are urged to get in touch with President Snow at once. Evening courses for adults will 1)0 given again this year. These courses will commence about October 1st. The first faculty meeting of the 'ear is being held this afternoon (Thursday) at 2 o'clock. President Snow announces that orientation assemblies will be held "aily the first week of school. |
