Show Miss Fern Starr Appointed Dean of Women At U.S.A.C. for 1944-45 Term Most recent honor to come to Miss Fern -Starr is the appointment appoint-ment as dean of women at the Utah State Agriculture college at Logan, where she will be employed em-ployed this year as instructor in home economics. Miss Starr received re-ceived word of her appointment last Thursday while here visiting with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. C. C. Starr. She was enroule to Logan from Camp Roberts, Calif., where she had spent the previous week visiting. Graduate of the Dixie junior college and the U. S. A. C, Logan, Miss Starr taught two years at the Hurricane high school, and has been teaching home economics at Provo high school and acting as dean of girls there the past two years. During the summer of 1943 she attended the Oregon State college at Corvallis, where she was accorded secial honors. She has been employed this summer sum-mer at Pine Crest Inn in Emigration Emigra-tion canyon near Salt Lake, where she managed the kitchen for the hundreds of M. I. A. girls. According Ac-cording to re)orts the guests this year included women M. I. A. members of all ages from 14 to 80 yeai's. |
