Centorville, Davis County, Utah, on September 6th, 1S5!); as a child he moved willi his parents to Harmony, Har-mony, Washington county, during the year 1S62 or 1S0H, where they continued con-tinued to live until 1871, when his father decided to move to Longvalley, hut whilo passing through Panguitch, Hp. George W. Sevy prevailed upon him to locate here, as the people were i just, moving out of the fort and pros pects for brick buildings were very i good, us Mr. Worthon was a stone ! and brick mason and his services ! were very much needed. They lived in the fort during the first summer hero. Nelso worked with his father at the mason trade as well as doing farming and looking after the cattle. At 'the ago of twenty-two years, on December 5th, 1SS1, he married Miss Julia Montague, at Fanguitch Lake, J!p. Joseph C. Davis performing the ceremony. They had no children, but. their homo was ever open to those who needed comfort anil assistance. assist-ance. Among those who enjoyed a home with them were; F. M. Gavin, Arthur Lewis, Mattie Hancock Riding, Rid-ing, who was an orphan child and remained re-mained with them until she mar-Alma mar-Alma Hiding. Irving Cook, George W. Proctor as an invalid lived with them one summer at the Lake, under their care. At the death of her sister, Mrs. Abbie Dowdell, they took the children and gave them a home. Many a weary traveler has found a placo to rest at their home while they lived at Panguitch Lake. lie was ordained an Elder, December Decem-ber 14th. 1S99, by Mahonri M. Steel. He is survived by his widow and the following brothers and sisters: James A. Wortheu, Henry Worthen. John F. -Worthen, Fred Worthen, -Mrs. Louie Henrie, Mrs. Elizabeth Henderson, Mrs. Rhoda Lee of Panguitch Pan-guitch and Mrs. Eliza Judd, Charles Worthen, George Worthen. Mrs. Mary Ann Sullivan, Mrs. Alice Milne, of St. George, William Worthen, of Ferron. Samuel Worthen, Mrs. Marie Hancock of Salt Lake City, Mrs. Alma Chidester. and a host of friends.
