Show HURRICANE Mrs. Vernet Hinton Reporter The Hurricane wards united for their Sunday morning Christmas program. The numbers included, tonette solo, Dale Hinton; boys chorus, "Silent Night"; re-told story, Viola Spendlove; ladies' trio, "Star of the East", directed by Mrs. Walter Brooks, ' and a Christmas essay, LaDean Spendlove. Spend-love. Mrs. Ray Naegle has returned from Ogden, where she has been with her husband, who has employment em-ployment there. "" ' Mrs. Melvin Cox is here visiting with Mrs. Grace Cox. Several from Hurricane attended attend-ed the welcome home party held at LaVerkin Saturday night for DeLance Squire, who recently returned re-turned from the mission field. Merlene Stevens is home from school for the holidays. V e r 1 e Langston is visiting friends in Hurricane. The annual Christmas Ball was held Wednesday night at the high school. The Hurricane high school orchestra or-chestra under the direction of their instructor, Glenn Webb, went to St. George Tuesday night to play for the F. F. A. Sweetheart Sweet-heart Ball. A good time was had by all who attended. Miss Genevieve Isom is home from the Iron county hospital, where she has been employed for several months. She was married Friday to Robert Gardner of Cedar City in the St. George Temple. They returned Saturday night from Beaver Dams and were honored with a wedding supper at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Isom. Plates were laid for 17. Mrs. Annie Covington arrived Sunday from the L. D. S. hospital, where she has been receiving medical med-ical treatment. Mr. and Mrs. Fred Slack and family of Cedar City visited in Hurricane Sunday. The senior high play, "Kind Lady", was presented Friday and Saturday nights. The cast was well chosen and reflected the good work of their coach, Mrs. Taylor. It was greatly appreciated. Mrs. Neola Stratton was taken to the Iron county hospital Sunday Sun-day for surgery. La Von Adams came home from Nevada this week. DeLance Squire was guest speaker in the South ward Sacrament Sacra-ment meeting Sunday. Jackie Fish was a visitor in Short Creek Saturday and Sunday. Sun-day. Mr. and Mrs. Owen. Rail left : the first part of the week for their home in Tremonton and will , not return until after the holidays. holi-days. Max Jepson left Monday for Provo with a truck load of scrap metal. He is making steady trips hauling scrap. Mrs. Glenna Stocks visited Sunday Sun-day with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Stratton. Rulon Woodbury arrived Saturday Satur-day from Logan and will stay for the holidays, returning to resume his studies after the New Year. Miss Mavis Isom, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George Isom was married at Las Vegas, Dec. 16, to Thomas Stuart of Los Angeles. They are making their home in Los Angeles. Howard Savage of Henrieville, Utah, was a visitor Monday at the home of Mrs. LaVon Adams, enroute home on a military furlough. fur-lough. Miss Ilean Woodbury is home from school to spend several days. Mr. and Mrs. Homer Isom received re-ceived word Monday that their son, Howard, had been wounded in action somewhere in Australia. Opal Isom and Alta Hinton came home Friday from school to spend the holidays. Miss Mary Stirling, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Rex Stirling, was married to Paul Webb in Mes-quite, Mes-quite, Dec. 5th . Thayne Wright, who is stationed at Luke Field, Ariz., is home on furlough. Miner Yeagley is home from Ogden visiting with Mrs. Yeagley. |
