Show Manti Parachute Plant Yants Vomen Employees Women Must lie American Citizens Between Ages of 18 and 40 Years MANTI, Utah. Women of southern south-ern Utah can now help win the war in their own home territory. Jobs for 350 women to make parachutes for the U. S. armed forces will be available at the Parachute Company of Utah, in Manti, Jan. 4th, C. E. Fauntleroy, owner and manager of the para-- para-- chute plant, announced recently. No previous training or experience experi-ence will be required. Training urith nav will be conducted bv the company's production staff in the recently completed parachute plant, which has the most modern lighting, heating and ventilating facilities available. In Production for 6. Months ' The Parachute company has been making parachutes for the Army, Navy and Marines for the past six months. Just how many parachutes have been shipped from Manti cannot be revealed, but Mr. Fauntleroy had this to say about the women who have been turning them out in a constant con-stant stream. "I would match the women of southern Utah with any parachute workers in the United States. There are no better bet-ter national defense workers anywhere any-where in the country today. If I had three or four hundred more like tne ones i nave on my payroll, pay-roll, we could produce enough of this life-saving equipment right here in southern Utah to give the Japs something to think about." The State of Utah is cooperating co-operating with the company on the housing situation in Manti and surrounding towns, with the end in view that there will be no housing shortage when the training program gets underway.
