Show Funeral Services Held In Rockville for : Francis H. Henderson l ROCKVILLE, Utah. Funeral " services were conducted in the Rockville ward L. D. S. chapel Sat- '. unlay, June 12 at 7 p. m., for ; Francis Howard (Frank) Hender son, 22, Seaman 1c, who died in the San Diego Naval hospital June 7, from skull fracture re- ceived in a bus accident. The serv ices were under the direction . of '. the ward bishopric assisted by ; members of the American Legion, Sterling Russell Post of Hurricane, Rockville and Sprindale. Bishop Arthur D. Cox presided. Music numbers included a vocal solo, "Beautiful Land", by Mrs. Newell DeMille, accompanied by Mrs. Waldon Ballard at the piano, with violin obligato by Eldon Russell; Rus-sell; duet, Rock of Ages", Wendell DeMille and Raynold Jennings; and vocal solo,' "Sleep Sailor", by Whitford Gifford. Henderson Funeral (Continued from first page) and Bishop Cox, both, of whom commended this Rockville boy for his work in the church and for his service on the sea for his country. They also' expressed the sympathy of the community for the mother, who has made many sacrifices and worked unfalteringly unfalter-ingly to educate and rear her family. Prayers were by John R. Crawford Craw-ford and Bishop Philetus Jones of Rockville. Full military honors were given at the graveside under the direction of Post Commander, Homer Englestead of Hurricane, with "Taps", sounded by Mace Graff of Hurricane. The grave in the Rockville cemetery was dedicated by.Heber Hirschi. , A sailor companion, Louis Paul Weadick, of Denver, accompanied the body to Rockville and remained re-mained overnight with the family. He brought word that Seaman Henderson was struck by a bus while crossing a street in San Diego. Surviving are the mother, Mrs. Letitia Henderson; a sister, Mrs. Asael Stout of Boulder City, and three brothers, Ralph, with the Army ari corps at LeGrande, Ore.; Jack and Jerry of Rockville. He has been in the service since Jan. 16, 1942. |
