Show HURRICANE Hurricane, Jan. 1. Edwin Stout received several cuts and bruises about ab-out the face and head Christmas day when a cart the hoys were playing with rolled off the dugway above town. He is getting along nicely. The old meeting house is completly torn down and moved away. As the foundation had settled badly and the building going to ruin, it was thought best to remove it and sell the material mater-ial with a view of putting up a larger building later. Our D. C. students entertained at sacrament meeting Sunday with prepared pre-pared lectures on the Book of Mormon. Mor-mon. Orvil Reeve of of the B. T. U. also gave an interesting talk. All were much enjoyed. The Hurricane Canal Co held their annual stockholders meeting Saturday Satur-day and elected a new board as follows: fol-lows: J. W. Imlay, Geo. T. Stevens, Joseph Wittwer, E. N. Stanworth and W. D. Sullivan. George Neagle and Miss Gertrude Stanworth of this place were married in the St. George temple Thursday. Both are highly respected and we wish them much happiness. About two inches of snow fell Saturday night, the first of the season, sea-son, and about three of four inches again Monday night. Mr. and Mrs. Jos. T. Atkin and Mrs. Fawcett of St. George are visitors visit-ors with the lalier's daughter, Mrs. Wilkinson. The Relief Society gave a Leap Year ball Monday night to raise funds for missionaries and other purposes. pur-poses. Dr. Wilkinson made a trip to Cedar Ced-ar City Saturday and brought his mother home with him for a visit. The holidays have passed, so far, rather quietly and pleasantly. Delila Wood has a broken arm, particulars not learned. Born, to Mr. and Mrs. Ruel Glazier, a girl, Dec. 28. |
