Show City and Businessmen Must Foot Bill For Xmas Street Lights This Year "Power for Christmas lights for the business district of St. George will have to be paid for by business busi-ness houses if such lights are to be lighted during the Christmas holiday season," it 'was announced by Lawrence Wadsworth, president presi-dent of the St. George Chamber of Commerce. "The power company will pay its share of the cost, but Reed Gardner, manager of the company, com-pany, states that he has received orders from headquarters of the company that he must not rurn-ish rurn-ish power free this year, as has been done in other years", reports Mr. Wadsworth. With the question being up to the city and business houses, the Chamber of Commerce will make a survey to determine if the businessmen busi-nessmen are desirous of footing the bill required to light the str96ts ' Lee Owens who has been in charge of this project for the past several years, states that there are two ways in which the lighting light-ing could be handled. Some already have the lights on their own meters, but for those who don't, it would seem that a cheaper rate could be secured by paying for the whole system of lights under one charge. |
