Show District Rotary Governor Yisits St. George Club District Governor Richard (Dick) Pearse and Mrs. Pearse were the, guests of the St. George Rotary club at a ladies' night program' held in the South ward chapel on1 last Friday night. Governor Pearse addressed the group relative to Rotary, its work and the duties and privileges of club members. Following the dinner and talk, he met with club officers and committee com-mittee chairmen. Governor Pearse stressed the need for living the principle of Rotary and pointed out that the boys work part of Rotary in particular par-ticular had an important part to play in war times. He pointed out that delinquency is becoming a real problem throughout the nation na-tion and that Rotarians should take an active interest in boys and help them with their problems. prob-lems. He stressed "good attendance", attend-ance", saying that it was impossible impos-sible to be a good Rotarian without with-out regular attendance. While he said that to manyj people it seemed that Rotary didn't accomplish its aims in the international field, he pointed out that Rotary was disbanded in every county where the axis came into power as Hitler and his mates recognized its power. He declared that all service organizations throughout the world must lend every assistance in the organization organiza-tion of the peace effort. |
