Show Musical Program Given High Praise By Large Audience That comparatively young students stu-dents can be taught to appreciate as well as reproduce what is best in music and song was simply illustrated il-lustrated Wednesday evening in the program presented by Mrs. Mae A. Pace and Mrs. Irene Everett Ev-erett with their girls' chorus and orchestra from the Woodward high school in "Music America Loves". The program included, "Light Cavalry", by the orchestra; violin duet, "Chiribiribin", Lois Kemp and Beth "Atkin; "Tales from Vienna Woods"; and Minuet in G by the orchestra; a group of ftree numbers, "Santa Lucia", "Song of the Open Road", and "Who's That A Calling", by the girls' chorus; cello solo, Miss Vivian Viv-ian Snow; "Country Gardens", by the orchestra; violin duet, "Barcarole", "Bar-carole", by Josephine Jones and Stanton Schmutz, with piano, wllo and bass viol accompaniment by Norma Jean Paolasso, Vivian Snow and Darrel Smith, and a mlley of national airs by the orchestra, concluding with a group of national songs, with dance' interlude in-terlude for some numbers, presentation presen-tation of The Colors by junior boys in V-formation, with Richard Lamoreaux as Uncle Sam. Mrs. Everett directed the orchestra orch-estra and Mrs. Pace the chorus, and the accompaniments were Miss Paolasso of St. George and Junior ates of Santa Clara. A large audience attended the program and commended these young musics musi-cs and their instructors for 'heir fine work. |
