Show 03 News from the Washington County People At Service Camps and Nation's Battle Fronts Three Boys at Farragut Jackson L. Wendell, A. S., writes from Camp Scott, Farragut, Ida., to inform the News that Thorley Turnbeaugh, Karl Cottam and himself him-self are now located at Camp Scott. They are three of the group who left recently. These boys are three of the 25 which the Lady Lions are donating a six-month's subscription to the News. Jackson writes that they will be glad when this first training train-ing period is over as he thinks that it will be the hardest part. M ra h Arrives At Camp Keams Clayton H. Frei of Santa Clara is listed among the new arrivals at the Kearns Army air force basic training center. He is a pre-aviation cadet and is now starting on his basic training. fT fn i F. McMullin Graduates Second Lieutenant Floyd ITop-j kins McMullin, 28, U.S.M.C., of Leeds, has just been graduated from Reserve Officers' school atj Quantico, Va., Marine Corps base. Lieut. McMullin is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Edward McMullin of Leeds. Lieut. McMullin visited in Leeds with his parents recently, after receiving his commission in the Marine Corps. He resumes his training at Harvard university and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in "radar", the new secret weapon. T-i r- fr, Returns To Kansas Pfc. Weldon Empey took the bus Friday evening for his return to his training station at Winfield, Kansas, after spending a week in St. George with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Empey and oilier relatives. A family dinner at the home of Mrs. Mary Thomas was given in his honor Friday, before his departure. Pfc. Empey joined the U. S. Army air corps in October, 1942, training first at Sheppard Field, Texas, and going from there to Kansas. lie is in the ground crew (Continued on page four) Bond-Stamp Drive (Continued from first page) even their lives and the more and better equipment that is provided pro-vided for them, the less chance that they will loose their lives.
