Show Speakers Pay Tribute ' To George Judd At Funeral Services Here Funeral services for George Judd, 64, were held in the St. George Stake Tabernacle at 3 Wednesday afternoon under the direction of Bp. Vernon Worthen of the West Ward. W. B. Mathis, the first speaker stated that he had been acquainted acquaint-ed with George Judd all his life and in mentioning his close association as-sociation with him paid tribute to him as an entertainer of a fine clean type, a real friend, a good Latter-Day-Saint and a character that woud be greatly missed in the community. Patriarch George W. Worthen endorsed the remarks of Mr. Mathis and related instances showing how faithful and dependable depend-able Mr. Judd was when called upon to assist in any way in the ward or in social activities. Miles read several appropriate verses and told of his appreciation for the life's work of George Judd and the joy that had come through association with him. Prayers were offered bv O. S. Taylor and B. F. Pendleton and interment was made in the city cemetary. He was born in Birmingham, England, December 12, 1873, and when four years of age came to St. George where he spent his boyhood boy-hood and obtained his schooling. He was devoted to his foster parents, par-ents, Thomas and Mary Jane Judd and they were just as devoted to him and had good cause throughout their lifetime to be proud of George as they were their other children. He was married in the St. George Temple, March 24, 1897 to Louise Miles of St. George. They made their home for some time in La Verkin, where he served as the first superintendent superinten-dent of the Sunday school when it was organized there in 1904 and he held this position for two years. He has always been popular in social circles and has willingly served in many ward, stake and civic activities. He has been a lover of home, garden and beautiful beauti-ful surroundings and kept his place very attractive. He has reared a good family and has kept a son in the mission field and always been a patient and loving husband and father. Besides his wife he is survived by the following children. Marge Ryan, Douglas, Ariz, and Howard Ernest and Donald Judd of St. George. He is also survived by eight grandchildren. One son, Miles Judd died a few years ago. He is also survived by two sisters, Ella Lund of Salt Lake City and Kate Thompson, of La Verkin and four brothers.
