Show Miss Nina Gubler and Lloyd Bleak Marry Here at j Temple Wednesday, Aug., 30 J Miss Nina Gubler. daughter of j Mr. and Mrs. Ensign Gubler of , Santa Clara and Lloyd Bleak, son j of Mr. and Mrs. Earl J. Bleak i of St. George were united in mar- j riage at mid-day Wednesday. I August 30. in the St. George; Temple. j 1 The ceremony was read by Pres. I Harold S. Snow in the presence j of many relatives and friends of1 both bride and groom. The de- ! votional service at 9 a.m. pre-I ceding the marriage included j ( I vocal solos by Miss Rhoda Andrus j j and an address by Daniel Garn Heaton. Immediately following the marriage, mar-riage, members of the two families were served an elaborate wedding dinner at the home of the groom's parents, after which the couple left by auto for Catalina Island where they will spend their honeymoon before returning to make their home in St. George. Both young people are graduates gradu-ates of the Dixie junior college and have been active in school affairs, Mr. Bleak in the depart ment of music and Miss Gubler in the domestic and Fine arts departments. Her wedding gown of white satin and lace with flowing train, was her own handiwork. The bride has been the subject of numerous dinners , and other social events during the past two weeks. On August 24, 85 relatives and friends, comprising practically the entire feminine population of Santa Clara and Ivins assembled at Santa Clara to shower Miss Gubler with numerous and lovely gifts. The program on this event included the making of a "bride's book" and book of recipes; with vocal numbers by the Misses Miriam and Shirley Reber, Mrs. Preston Hafen and Mrs. Grant Hafen and a reading by Avonelle Reber. Miss Gubler entertained at a trousseau tea at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Norman Gubler August 27. Mrs. Ensign Gubler and Mrs. Earl J. Bleak receiving. Assisting in the tea room were Barbara Ray and Berneice Miles, Alice Thompson, Helen Thompson, Anna Gubler, Emma Leavitt and Miriam iReber. A color scheme of pink and white was carried out with a crystal basket of pink and white gladioli centering the lace covered table and crystal candelabra candela-bra with lighted pink candles at either end. An elaborate wedding cake, made by Mrs. James McArthur Mc-Arthur was on exhibit. Many guests attended from St. George, Santa Clara and Ivins. i |
