Show Guard Unit Gets New Uniforms and Equipment Complete uniforms have been received re-ceived for the local Guard Unit, together with a large amount of engineering equipment and office furniture and fixtures. The regular drill for the week of September 4 will be held on Tuesday night, Sept. 5, because of the holiday. Beginning at 7 o'clock equipment will be issued. The following promotions to Privates, first class, have been made in the unit: Homer Robertson, Robert-son, Garth Cottam, Paul Crosby, Carlin Hinton, Keith Hinton, Elmer Pickett Dean Snow, Ham-blin Ham-blin Bracken. The officers wish to thank the local physicians for examining approximately ap-proximately 100 applicants for the unit without cost to the government, which was very helpful in getting our unit organized. or-ganized. Word has been received that Doctor Reichmann has been appointed local physician for the Guard unit. Many of the students coming into school are desirious of joining join-ing the unit and it appears that the few remaining vacancies will be filled very soon, after which time applicants will be placed on the waiting list. |
