Show Dan Morgan Killed In Car Accident; Funeral Held Tues. Daniel Morgan, son of W. H. and Ellen Smithson Morgan of this city died after 8:00 p.m. Friday evening from injuries received re-ceived when the car in which he was numg was cumpieieiy ue- molished 20 miles north of Ton-apah, Ton-apah, Nevada. He, in company with Frank Wheeler who also died from injuries received, were enroute from Silver Peak where they were employed to Tonapah when they came around a curve in which the road struck loose oil and skidded hitting a culvert, which demolished the car. They had left Silver Peak at 7:00 and were found just after eight o'clock, so that the accident is thought to have happened about 7:30. Mr. Wheeler died in a hospital a few hours later, never having regained consciousness. They were in Mr. Morgans car which he had purchased last month and it was driven by Mr. Wlheeler. Daniel Morgan was born at Price, Utah July 19, 1906 and received his education there. He has been employed at Silver Peake the last few years and at the time of his death was employed em-ployed by the James Morris Trucking Company. He spent the Fourth of July here visiting his parents and other relatives. Besides his parents he is survived surviv-ed by the following brothers and sisters: Leonard L. Mcrgan, Ross Morgan, Mrs. Ivan Barney, Mrs. Ervin Barney of St. George and Mrs. J. W. Sharp of Lords-burg, Lords-burg, New Mexico who is visiting with her parents here. Funeral services were held in the St. George Stake Tabernacle at 5:00 Tuesday afternoon under the Direction of Bishop Vernon Worthen of the West ward. The opening number, "Sweet Hour of Prayer", was given by the South ward Quartette composed com-posed of Mrs. Alice Cannon, Mrs. Melba Baker, William A. Whitehead White-head and Carl L. Moss. Prayer was offered by Bishop Arthur K. Hafen. Patriarch George W. Worthen stated that he was not acquainted acquaint-ed with the young man but he (Continued on page four) DAN MORGAN (Continued from first page) was acquainted with his mother and one of his sisters. He told of his association with them and ; knew that they had the love of the gospel in their hearts and a desire to serve God. Vocal solo, "Prayer Perfect", sung by Mrs. Melba Baker. Edward E. Morgan of Price a cousin of Mr. Morgan, told of his association with him when they were younger and of fine qualities of character. He was very considerate of his folks and did many things for them." Stake Pres. W. O. Bentley spoke of the faithfulness of this young man's parents to their church duties and of their love for their family. "We didn't have the privilege of becoming acquainted with this young man but we've met his parents and we can think of him as we've known them", he said. President Bent-ley Bent-ley then spoke of our life he-fore he-fore coming here and stated that the great objective of this life was to be prepared for death. "If we are prepared when the time comes we'll have no cause for regrets. Death is as important import-ant as birth and as necessary as life. It is merely a separation of the spirit from the hody. The spirit will return unto God who igave It." Bishop Worthen expressed the sympathy felt for this family at this time and paid tribute to them as tithe payers, for their attendance at meetings and for their willingness to he of service. serv-ice.
