Show OFFICERS ARREST TWO CAR THIEVES AFTER CAR WRECK Two car thieves, Harvey Pat-erson Pat-erson and Ed. J. White of Ogdcn, were airested on Wednesday and the stolen car found by Sheriff Antone Prince before the car had been reported as stolen. In wrecking the car they were driving and abandoning it on ,the highway near Castle Cliff, the men brought the attention cf Sheriff Prince and State Patrol Officers Marion Snow and L. A. Porter to the scene and the subsequent sub-sequent arrest. With the two men at the time cf the accident was Paul Zam-ala. Zam-ala. of this city. He had caught a ride with them at Murray. When they arrived here they wouldn't let him out but went right thru the city without stopping. Zani-alca Zani-alca was injured about the head when the wreck occured. He was brought to the local hospital by a tourist. When the officers arrived at the wreck, which had been reported re-ported to them by telephone from the Summit service station, they found the car' across the highway high-way and no one near it. Cruising Cruis-ing down the road they saw the two men, but when they questioned ques-tioned them they gave a report which seemed to clear them of any part in the wreck. After interviewing Zamaloa at the hospital they were convinced that two men they had talked to were the ones they wanted. The officers immediately telephoned tele-phoned Beaver Dam and other points on the road notifying men to watch for them. They then started after the man, catching up with them at Beaver Dam where they arrested them. The men are being held in the Washington county jail. The car being driven west, went down the hill and stayed right side up. The presence of blood stains indicated that someone lost considerable blood, said Sheriff Prince. The car was registered under a temporary temp-orary permit in the name of L. 13. Roberts of Cedar City. |
