California Cali-fornia were visitors at the home of Mr. Riding's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Riding Thursday and Friday. Mrs. Riding's parents. Mr. and Mrs. James Jolley of Washington, Wash-ington, returned to Taft with them to spend the winter. Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Carter attended at-tended the funeral services for Leland Martineau in Enterprise November 27. The children of Mr. and Mrs. George W. Worthen honored their parents at a Thanksgiving dinner din-ner at the home of Bp. and Mrs. Vernon Worthen. Of their children attending from other towns were: Mrs. Leunie Gregerson and five children, from Bellview; Mr. and Mrs. Harry Slack and' two children, child-ren, from Toquerville; Mr. and Mrs. Earl Nelson and five child ren, from Rexburg. Idaho; Mr.! and Mrs. Arnold Lemmon and j three children, from Hurricane and Mr. and Mrs. Afton Ballard' and small son, from Rockville. Thirty-one enjoyed the sumptous dinner. Mrs. Lloyd Chamberlain of'Ka-nab of'Ka-nab arrived in St. George Monday Mon-day to remain for some time and receive medical attention. Mrs. Roxey Romney received a wire announcement of the birth of a daughter to Mr. and Mrs. El-wood El-wood Romney in Golden, Colorado. Mrs. Norman Johnson and children child-ren were here from Provo, Wednesday Wed-nesday to Sunday as visitors at the home of Mrs. Johnson's parents, par-ents, Mr. and Mrs. A. A. Nelson. Miss Mary Nelson was also home from Cedar City where she is teaching. Elbert Nelson returned to Provo Sunday with his sister Mrs. Johnson and will visit for a few days. Thorley Fawcett left for Alpine, Utah, November 25, to get his mother, Mrs. George Fawcett Jr. who is visiting with Mr. and Mrs. W. Terry. Mrs. Philena Pickett of this city accompanied him and will visit for several days before returning, with her sister at Alpine Al-pine and with Mr. and Mrs. Nolan Anderson in Salt Lake City. Bp. and Mrs. Harold S. Snow had as guests for Thanksgiving guests Bp. and Mrs. Edward Mc-Mullin Mc-Mullin and family of Leeds and Mr. and Mrs. Ivan Decker and j family of Parowan. Mrs. McMullin and Mrs. Decker are sisters of Mrs. Snow. Members of the Wednesday night Bridge Club met at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Whitehead on the evening of November No-vember 27, honoring Mr. Whitehead White-head on his birthday anniversary the party, to him, was a complete surprise. Twelve guests enjoyed the pot luck supper and evening's entertainment. The Misses Mary Sullivan, Helen Mortensen and Evelyn Cannon accompanied ac-companied by Wendel Snow, Era-merson Era-merson Lee and George Jay motor- RilHpr Citv and Las Vegas Sunday in celebration of Miss Mor-tensen's Mor-tensen's bitrthday anniversary. Mrs Bert Clements, of Little-field Little-field Arizona, left the hospital November 29. after receiving medical medi-cal treatment. Mrs Ellis Jones entered the local hospital Tuesday for medical treatment. Miss Maika DeJong was released from the hospital November 30. after being there for ten days following fol-lowing surgical treatment. Miss Norma Matins and Mrs. Pearl Smith were hostesses to the BT.B. Club at the W. B. Mathis home Friday, November 26. club members and their partners ! being present. The evening was spent in social games. Light lunch was served. Miss Gertie Frehncr. of Little-field Little-field was visiting with Miss Mary Jarvis on Wednesday, December 1. Stake Primary President, Mrs. Orpha Lund and aides: Mrs Belle Prince Mrs. Lottie Reber and Mrs. Grace Cox attended the Gunlock Ward Primary Conference Sunday. November 28, returning the same day. R. C. Lund Jr. made the trip with them. |
