Show Leeds CCC Camp General D. C. Cubbison of the U. S. Army and district commander com-mander of Fort Douglas district, was an official visitor at Leeds camp on Monday and Tuesday. The General spent the evening in camp August 15 and commenced his inspection at 6 a.m. August lb. Capt. Alvin Sessions, assistant district inspector, made his scheduled inspection of camp ar.d camp activities on August 16. New School Building Near Completion The new 20xS0 feet school building build-ing at Camp Leeds is rapidly near-ing near-ing completion. This building, containing a library, an education office, a class room and work shop, will probably Ik- ready for occupancy in two weeks time. Fdward Welch and Clemens Kuehcinski. leaders of Company rS. recently returned from Fort Douglas where they attended a week's intensive training in swimming swim-ming and life saving. The purpose of the training school is to prepare two men from each camp throughout the district to act as instructors in swimming and life saving, and to supervise swimming groups. The two representatives of camp Leeds obtained Senior Red Cross life saving certificates. |
